Our Story
Why We Started Solar Bill Review
Back in 2014, when I first got into solar, I started meeting with existing solar customers, and four out of five loved it. But that one out of five kept telling me the same thing: they'd been blindsided by a surprise "true-up" bill. Solar bills run low all year, so most people never noticed anything building up behind the scenes until that one annual true-up hit, and it was a shock. A lot of them didn't even know how much they'd actually saved.
That's why we built Solar Bill Review the way we did. Every customer gets an initial bill review within their first three months, so you know how to read your bill and we can confirm your system's performing the way it should. Then, once a year, we offer a complimentary 20–30 minute review, so nobody on our watch gets blindsided again.

How I Got Here
Four decades of building trust, one conversation at a time.
30+ years knocking doors
Built my reputation in the cable business, face to face, while also managing and teaching new hires.
Three years with SolarCity, then Tesla
SolarCity set the bar for customer care, most calls answered in under 30 seconds. Then Tesla bought the company, and while their batteries remain some of the best hardware in solar, skilled labor and workmanship are what actually make an install five-star or one-star. A Diamond Certified installer like Got Watts delivers the five-star experience; Tesla Corporation handling its own install has too often delivered the one-star one. That's what sent me looking for a partner who'd treat customers the way I did.
The search for the best
Heard SunPower made the best panels in the world; the glowing online reviews confirmed it.
Six great years with SunPower
As a non-installing dealer, they sent leads and I brought referrals. Almost everyone had a great experience.
Why SunPower fell
Bankruptcy followed a stock split and the end of in-house manufacturing. Many of the veteran leaders I'd built relationships with moved on, and the experience wasn't the same without them.
Found my match in Got Watts
A Maxeon rep introduced me to Got Watts, a family operation that shared my values on customer care, and I've never felt more confident in a warranty: the full 30 years on parts, labor, and roof leaks is backed by Zurich North America, an insurer that's been around since before the lightbulb existed. Today I give them 100 percent of my business.
"One of the few companies that is responsive to my phone calls — a major plus these days of AI."
The best ability is availability. Local hands, global staying power for the one asset you can't replace. When you go solar with me, I don't disappear after the install. Every year I'll sit down and review your bill with you.
